The Sakhalin Regional Museum of Local Lore
The museum presents rare collections, which include ancient objects of the traditional culture of the Sakhalin aborigines (Ainu, Uilta (orok), Nivkh) and paleontological collections. Paleontological collections, representing the oldest remains of cetaceans, plants, mollusks that lived in this region tens of millions of years ago in the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras, are evidence of the history of the development of the planet Earth and the organisms inhabiting it.
