House-Museum of Alexei Mateevici
The house-museum of the writer and poet Alexei Mateevici located in the village of Zaim, Causeni. It was founded in 1988 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the poet. The building in which the museum is located, was built by his father, Mikael Mateevici, a priest close to the village church. In the spacious courtyard of the museum a lot of trees and flowers. Since 1990, the house is a monument to Alexei Mateevici. Six halls of the museum show the spirit of the times through exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, objects and documents, rare books library and antique furniture. Although Mateevici died at the age of 19, he left an impressive literary heritage: numerous translations and journalistic works on the history and development of Christianity in Moldova, as well as a collection of poems, which were published after his death.
